Johannesburg’s Finest Residential Golfing Destination

The Houghton Project in South Africa is being developed on the already existing Houghton Country Club, and will feature residential and commercial units integrated into a newly designed Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. Jack Nicklaus, the American born champion golfer operates one of the largest golf design practices in the world. The project was set to start in April this year, featuring 320 luxury apartments adjoined to a five-star luxury hotel. The apartments range in size and will include two-bedroom units, four-bedroom penthouses and duplex ground floor units. The hotel will include 180 rooms, conference rooms, a spa, fitness centre, gymnasium and four restaurants. The first apartments are set to be completed in April of next year, with the project completion scheduled for 2010. The new golf course is 75% complete and is to be completed in June this year. The development is being built in such a way to preserve the beauty of the landscape and will present many energy-saving features such as solar panels. The project has already received a lot of interest from business executives, as well as international and local property investors who have seen the potential that the Houghton project has. It is thought that the Houghton will become Johannesburg’s finest residential golfing destination.
