Natural Development On The Lake Wakatipu Shores

The development of Jacks Point is set within a 3000 acre nature preserve on the shores of Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, New Zealand. Jacks Point is located in a prime location, only a fifteen minute drive from Queenstown and a ten minute drive from the International Airport.

The project consists of several residential neighbourhoods, an 18-hole golf course, a waterfront village and a harbour. Jacks Point is designed to blend into the environment, and is being built using the stones from the surrounding valley. The development will ensure that the beauty of the Wakatipu Lake and the Remarkable Mountains will remain enhanced and preserved upon completion of the project. Only 5% of the nature preserve will be built upon, and the rest will remain protected from future development.

Jacks Point will be a self-contained community, with all services close at hand. The community will feature several retail outlets and shops, as well as visitor amenities and facilities. Henley Downs is an adjoining site, which is an extension of Jacks Point and will also feature residential units. The two projects will feature over 1400 residential units as well as a luxury hotel for visitors. The golf course will be shared by the residents, and is also built to work with the surrounding nature.

The entire development is set to be completed in 2015. The golf course has already officially been opened this year, and the other developments are being done in phases. The completion of Jacks Point will be in 2010, and the completion of Henley Downs is set for 2015.
