New World-Class International Airport In Bangalore

The arrival of a flight from Mumbai on the 24th of May signalled the opening of the brand new Bangalore Airport. The new airport is located 36 kilometres outside of the city and offers world-class facilities toBangalore Airport travelling domestic and international passengers. The airport features the use of wireless internet for those with laptops in addition to several business centres and lounges. There is a large shopping area, several cafes and restaurants, as well as a medical centre and post office. The airport retains all modern conveniences and offers ATM’s and money changing facilities in both the arrival and departure terminals.  The Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) was built after the old airport witnessed a great increase in passenger traffic. Bangalore has rapidly become India’s IT centre and is seeing an increase in the numbers of visitors every year. The arrival of the new airport is expected to impact the growing real estate market of Bangalore, facilitating travel from the city. The new airport will be expanded on in the next few years to ensure that the airport capacity corresponds to the flow of passengers. India’s biggest budget carrier has plans to provide a helicopter shuttle service to the new airport from the city for people who do not want to commute all of the way. This service will cost approximately $100, but will get passengers to the airport within minutes and enable them to avoid long traffic queues.
